Stolle Machinery’s Sidney Assembly Plant participated in Manufacturing Week (Friday October 6th – Friday October 13th), hosting approximately 60 students from Upper Valley Career Center’s Precision Machining and Electrical classes on Tuesday October 10th. Students learned about Stolle Machinery’s history, what we do, our locations across the U.S. and around the world, how many employees we have, and the types of jobs that exist at Stolle. They also received information on the compensation and benefits that can be earned by being a part of the Stolle team. Students toured the Sidney Assembly facility to get hands on exposure to the Stolle work environment, the machines and equipment we utilize to build our can and end making machines. They had the opportunity to speak with members of the Stolle team about their experiences and what a career in manufacturing can provide. Stolle Sidney’s Pre-Apprentice program partners with the UVCC, providing students with co-op opportunities to further develop their skills and knowledge in a real manufacturing environment. Students from UVCC were presented with a Stolle Machinery banner to hang in their machining lab. The goal of the Stolle Pre-Apprentice program is to provide opportunities for students and schools across the Miami Valley to continue their education and provide potential employment opportunities post high school.
