Each year at our Annual Meeting, we present several awards to recognize outstanding partners and individuals who have been essential allies in achieving the positive impact we strive for. This year, our 2023 Community Partner Award was presented to Ryan Maier, Superintendent of the Hardin-Houston school district in Shelby County. In 2021, we began an in-school counseling program called ECHO (Empowering Children with Hope and Opportunity). This four-prong model was developed by the University of Dayton for use in area Catholic schools. The model includes a social and emotional learning curriculum in classrooms, one-on-one counseling, professional development for teachers, and case management services for at-risk families. Hardin-Houston was the first school district to commit to the program, and Superintendent Ryan Maier has become a strong supporter of this partnership that is now impacting hundreds of students. His continued support has helped us expand the program to include Russia and Jackson Center schools. Thank you, Ryan and Hardin-Houston Schools for being a great Community Partner! We have an opening for a full-time Parish Relations & Development Assistant. This individual will work to become the face of CSSMV to parishes, by cultivating relationships with pastors, church administrators and priests throughout our service area, so an understanding of Catholic Church structure -- particularly within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati -- is important in this role. You know you're in the home stretch of a construction project when the signage goes up! This week #TeamCSSMV at our Eckerle Administration Center in Dayton got to watch our logo being installed -- one letter at a time -- on the façade of our new Welcome Center that will open next month. We can hardly wait to welcome the community to join us for a ribbon-cutting celebration in late June!

If you've visited our W. Riverview Avenue location in Dayton in the past, you know that coming to our main entrance meant coming up a flight of stairs before arriving at our door. This summer, our new Welcome Center will open with ground-level access from our parking lot . . . and a brand new elevator for those who need to get to a different floor. Increasing accessibility for our staff, volunteers, clients and guests has been a huge part of our building renovation efforts. We'll be hosting a ribbon-cutting event in June, so stay tuned for more information about your opportunity to come see our "new" digs!
